AI Developer – Computational Geometry and CAD Tools (m/f/d)
For Cutting-Edge Turbomachinery Applications
Join us to shape the future of AI-driven product development.
As an AI Developer in computational geometry and CAD, you will help pioneer a novel programming paradigm for parametric and implicit geometry. Your work will support the development of an AI foundation model for turbomachinery by building scalable geometry frameworks, simulation pipelines, and training datasets.
Your tasks
-
Design and implement a geometry framework for turbomachinery components (e.g., turbine blades) enabling high-fidelity parametric modeling.
-
Build and maintain large-scale geometry datasets with proper schema, metadata, versioning, and IP compliance.
-
Explore and implement geometry representations (CAD kernels, field models, meshes, point clouds) for robust AI training and validation.
-
Automate multi-physics simulations (CFD/CHT/FEA) to generate physics-based labels and performance metrics for ML models.
-
Develop surrogate and reduced-order models for thermal and structural performance, enabling optimization and digital twin applications.
-
Implement scalable HPC pipelines (job arrays, CI/CD, containerization) for high-throughput simulation workflows.
Your qualifications
-
PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or similar – with focus on geometry processing, CAD/CAE, or thermo-fluids.
-
Strong understanding of internal cooling for turbine blades (e.g., serpentine channels, impingement, film cooling) and basic CHT principles.
-
Proficient in Python and C/C++; experienced with Linux, GitLab, and CAD/CAE automation via APIs (e.g., NX Open, Star-CCM+).
-
Skilled in AI/ML for geometry/physics (e.g., mesh/graph neural networks, diffusion models, surrogate modeling).
-
Familiarity with CFD, CHT, and FEA workflows, including automation and validation.
-
Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration.
